Our foot specialist works with each patient to identify the best and least invasive care solutions.
We create our orthotics using traditional plaster of paris casting. We think it's worth the extra time and effort for the most accurate results.
Our foot specialist did a three-year surgical residency at Montefiore Medical Centre, NY, and brings his skill to procedures such as as ingrown toenail removal.
Corey brings his specializations in foot and ankle surgery, wound care and preventative foot health to Hamilton Foot Care, taking over from founder Dr Irv Luftig, DPM.
Corey has been handpicked by Dr Luftig to continue the quality of care Dr Luftig has provided for over 40 years. Corey is an ABPM board-certified Doctor of Podiatric Medicine who practiced as a podiatrist and foot and ankle surgeon in the US for 10 years before joining Hamilton Foot Care as a chiropodist.
Bringing deep medical knowledge of the foot and ankle, Corey strongly believes in holistic and preventative care, and works with his patients to improve their whole foot health. We will take the time to get to know you and your feet, and we will never recommend unnecessary treatment.
Corey is a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine. In the US, this is called a "podiatrist". American podiatrists are physicians who have attended an accreditted podiatric medical school and have the title "doctor"; they do complex foot and ankle surgery in hospitals, and prescribe medication. Podiatrists may practice in Alberta and British Columbia, however in Ontario, podiatrists who registered in the province after 1993 must practice as "chiropodists".
Chiropodists are qualified foot health specialists with a smaller scope of practice than podiatrists, limited to minor foot surgery outside hospitals, and select prescriptions. Until the law changes in Ontario, Corey is unable to practice the full scope of podiatry, however he brings a podiatrist's knowledge and skill to his chiropody practice at Hamilton Foot Care.
We will carefully and patiently get to know you and listen to your concerns. Our foot specialist will let you know your treatment options with honest advice and a special focus on preventative care, avoiding surgery wherever possible. You'll leave with a personalized treatment plan to help improve your condition immediately, and we'll book a speedy follow up if you need one.
